Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) massage is a gentle, rhythmic style of massage using light pressure to help drain and pump the lymphatic system and assist in the reduction of oedema (swelling). MLD assists the lymphatic system in maintaining the body’s fluid balance, circulation, and immune mechanisms.

Benefits of MLD

  • Reduces swelling post injury and post-surgery.
  • Improve metabolic rate.
  • Reduce symptoms of Lymphedema.
  • Speeds up scar tissue healing.
  • Following surgery MLD may help flush by products of anaesthesia
