Claire Lloyd BSc (Ost) hons.D.O
Claire graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 2005. She worked in practices around Kent before forming The Oast Osteopathy in 2008. Further to her Osteopathy training, Claire is also trained in western acupuncture (dry needling) and Pilates. She also holds her PG cert HE and works as a lecturer and clinic tutor at the European School of Osteopathy in Maidstone.
Claire likes to encourage the multidisciplinary aspect of the Oast Osteopathy as she feels that all therapies complement each other. Once patients are treated, it is about maintaining function and this is achieved through the Yoga and Pilates sessions, as well as educating patients in good posture through life.
Claire enjoys treating a whole spectrum of patients from babies through all ages, sporting injuries and posture-related issues.
"I discovered Osteopathy when my parents visited an Osteopath, my mother suffered from sinusitis and following two operations she was still not as well as she had hoped to be. She went for regular Osteopathy which dramatically reduced her symptoms and managed to help her resume a normal functioning life. I was interested in how much scope Osteopathy had, and excited that it wasn't just about tight muscles and joints. I also love the fact that no two patients are the same, each person's body has a different story to tell and requires a different treatment plan"
Claire trained as a Pilates instructor in 2010 as she realised the importance of exercises and functional movements in the rehabilitation and maintenance of good health. In 2014 she completed the Pilates equipment course and purchased a reformer cadillac, trapeze, arc parrel and split pedal chair ensuring she had a fully equipped studio. She is now working to include more exercises in her treatments and providing group training sessions.
