A member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage, Maria graduated from the prestigious London School Of Sports Massage in 2012, obtaining her BTEC Level 5 qualification in Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy.  Maria uses a variety of techniques learnt from her course to help reduce tension, increase flexibility, improve range of motion and help you to be body aware re-balancing your posture.  Maria continues to attend professional development courses in order to further develop her knowledge and skills.

Maria has completed a CPD course with the London School of Sports Massage which is called 'Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Posture Coaching’.  This course combined contemporary rehabilitation techniques with the skills of remedial massage. It introduces the concept of ‘Posture Coaching’.  The course enabled Maria to further develop her skills to assess physical dysfunction and then help clients to rehabilitate.  A particular aspect of the course looked at the subjects of failed load transfer and postural awareness coaching.

Maria has just completed a Hot Stone Massage Course in November 2017 at Jing Advanced Massage Training: the most comprehensive and professional Hot Stone Training available. On this unique course, Maria has been given a dynamic 'toolbox' of Hot Stone Fusion techniques that will delight.    It is highly effective in both relaxation and clinical massage using unique strokes and trigger point techniques to treat neck, back, shoulder and specific pain patterns.  Hydrotherapy and deep tissue massage enables the use of both hot and cold stones for any treatment.

Examples of injuries that Maria has assisted clients with include resolving frozen shoulder, assisting anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction rehabilitation, posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction rehabilitation, and spondylolisthesis.  Having had knee surgery herself in 2017 she is empathetic and knowledgeable about knee injury and rehabilitation!

Maria has massaged voluntarily for the Brain and Spine Foundation London Marathon runners, Blue Cross London Marathon runners, and Teenage Cancer Trust Brighton Marathon Runners and cyclists of the Surrey 100 Bike Ride.

As a health-conscious, fit and active person, her main sports have been hockey, cycling, tennis and dog agility!
